If your business uses a computer, you have something worth protecting.

Plain-language cybersecurity for Mobile, Alabama small businesses. No jargon. No fear-mongering. No big-city price tag.

Free · 15 minutes · red–yellow–green report delivered within 24 hours

why this matters

Most small businesses don't know they're at risk until it's too late.

A national security firm wants $40,000 for an audit. A managed service provider wants $5,000 a month. So most owners cross their fingers and hope they're not the one who gets hit.

60%

of small businesses close within six months of a cyberattack — the dental office, the salon, the family restaurant, the contractor who just landed a city job. They don't close because hackers are clever. They close because no one ever showed them what to fix first.

Doing nothing isn't a plan. Doing nothing isn't free.

Project Beacon

A beacon doesn't walk the path for you. It stands where the night is darkest and the water is roughest, and it stays lit — so anyone trying to find their way has something steady to steer by. That's the whole idea behind the name. I've watched too many capable people decide technology wasn't built for them: graduates who found the degree wasn't the door they were promised, young parents fighting to stay relevant, students leaving high school unsure where they fit. It is built for them. They just needed a light they could trust — and someone to explain the way in plain words. Project Beacon is that light. I'm not here to carry anyone. I'm here to make the path visible, then watch you walk it yourself.

01 · straight out of high school

No four-year detour required

Start with a real, job-relevant skill set and a first portfolio you can actually show — not four years of waiting to find out if tech is for you.

02 · changing direction after college

The degree wasn't the door

Bring whatever you've already got. Leave with a clear path into a field that hires — retooled for the work that's out there now.

03 · young parents staying relevant

Built around real life

Learn at a pace that fits work and family, so you don't fall behind an industry that never stops moving. Steady beats fast.

about the founder
Johnneshia Perrydon, founder of The Secure Terminal

Hi, I'm Johnneshia.

I'm the founder of The Secure Terminal — and the daughter, mother, and granddaughter behind it. I started this company because I watched my own family deal with a cybersecurity industry that was never built for everyday people.

But it goes deeper than that. Growing up, I never saw anyone who looked like me in this field. Cybersecurity is a space built almost exclusively around large corporations, and led almost exclusively by the same narrow group of people. I didn't want to just find a seat at that table — I wanted to build a different one.

The Secure Terminal exists so small businesses, nonprofits, churches, and community organizations don't have to choose between staying secure and staying afloat. It's built on three things: security, accessibility, and sustainability — for the business and for the communities we serve. Diversity and inclusion aren't a line on our website. They're the reason this company exists in the first place.

You're not too small to be a target. You're the perfect size.
